Cheikh Anta Diop

Cheikh Anta Diop was a prominent Senegalese historian, anthropologist, physicist, and politician who studied the human race's origins and pre-colonial African culture. Diop is best known for his work on pre-colonial African civilizations and his assertion that there is a common cultural link between all African peoples. He was an advocate for Pan-Africanism and the idea that ancient Egypt was a Black civilization. His work significantly contributed to the Afrocentric movement and changed the way African history and culture are viewed. Diop's most famous works include 'Nations nègres et culture' and 'Civilization or Barbarism: An Authentic Anthropology'.
