Eduardo Mondlane

Eduardo Mondlane was a prominent Mozambican political leader and revolutionary who played a significant role in the country's struggle for independence from Portuguese colonial rule. He was the founding president of the Mozambique Liberation Front (FRELIMO), a political movement that fought to end colonialism and establish national sovereignty. Mondlane was born on June 20, 1920, and was tragically assassinated on February 3, 1969. His leadership and vision were instrumental in uniting various factions within Mozambique to work towards a common goal of independence, which was eventually achieved in 1975, after his death.
