Forrest Reid

Forrest Reid (1875–1947) was an Irish novelist, literary critic, and translator. Known for his fiction that often explored themes of adolescence and homosexuality, Reid was part of the Irish literary renaissance and is best known for his novel 'Following Darkness' (1912) and his autobiography 'Apostate' (1926). His work is characterized by a meticulous, lyrical style and a deep appreciation for the natural world. Despite being relatively overlooked during his lifetime, Reid's novels have gained recognition for their psychological depth and their portrayal of the inner lives of young boys.
