Stephen L. Carter

Stephen L. Carter is an American law professor, legal- and social-policy writer, columnist, and best-selling novelist. He is the William Nelson Cromwell Professor of Law at Yale Law School, where he has taught since 1982. Carter is known for his works on the intersections of culture, politics, and law, and he has written extensively on the ethics of war, affirmative action, and many other topics. He is also the author of several acclaimed novels, including 'The Emperor of Ocean Park' and 'Back Channel.'
