Asterix And The Chieftain's Shield by Rene Goscinny
When the village learns that a treasured ancestral shield taken as a Roman war trophy now rests in the heart of the Empire, Asterix and Obelix set off to recover it. Their quest sends them through Roman towns and guarded sites, forcing them to use disguises, cunning and brute force to outwit soldiers and overcome comic obstacles.
