Dit Kan Niet Waar Zijn. Onder Bankiers by Joris Luyendijk

Onder bankiers

Based on extensive interviews with people who worked inside the financial industry, the book offers a journalistic, on-the-ground portrait of banking culture after the crisis: how perverse incentives, fear, secrecy, groupthink and short-termism shaped decisions, obscured risks and produced systemic fragility. Rather than a technical treatise it focuses on the human and organizational behaviors that helped create and perpetuate the crisis, and argues that fixing finance requires changing incentives, transparency and the social norms inside banks as much as regulatory tweaks.
