Über das Schönreden der SED-Diktatur

This investigative work documents how former GDR functionaries, Stasi collaborators and other perpetrators often escaped accountability after reunification and reintegrated into public life while their crimes were downplayed or forgotten; it criticizes political and cultural tendencies to relativize the SED dictatorship, presents cases and archival evidence, and calls for stronger recognition of victims, legal responsibility and a more honest public memory of the East German regime.
