Dan Trifida by John Wyndham
After a mysterious celestial event leaves most of humanity suddenly blind, a small number of sighted survivors struggle to navigate the collapse of order while also fending off a new threat: tall, venomous, ambulatory plants that can kill and herd the helpless. The narrator, among the few who retain sight, helps organize and protect a scattered group as rival survivor factions, moral dilemmas, and the creeping power of the plants force harsh choices about leadership, community, and what sort of future can be rebuilt from the ruins.
