A thirteen-year-old from Brooklyn and his younger brother spend a summer with their grandparents in rural Virginia, where the older boy, through a deepening bond with his blind grandfather and encounters in the small town, struggles with what it truly means to be brave, confronts fears and family vulnerabilities, and grows into greater responsibility, empathy, and self-understanding.
