Twelve-year-old Lolly, reeling from the recent death of his older brother, struggles to steer his life away from the pressures of violence and gang influence in his Harlem neighborhood; he channels his grief and imagination into building an intricate city out of LEGO bricks, finds friendship and mentorship in unexpected places, and slowly learns how creativity, community, and choice can help him heal and move forward.
