Told in the first person, it follows Ra-ab, heir to the Nomarch of the Oryx, in Egypt at the close of the XIth Dynasty. Amenemhet asks Ra-ab to raise Senusert in the Oryx, leading to a final confrontation with the Babylonian intrigues.
