Your Name. by Makoto Shinkai
Two strangers—a Tokyo high-school boy and a girl from a small rural town—begin intermittently swapping bodies and must learn to navigate each other’s lives by leaving notes, instructions, and marks on one another’s bodies; as they share mundane routines and secrets they grow close, only to discover their bond crosses time as well as space when they learn a comet struck her town years earlier. Racing to change fate, they attempt to warn and save the townspeople, but the supernatural connection that brought them together begins to fade and memories of one another slip away; years later, both are haunted by a persistent longing and finally feel drawn to one another in a crowded, fleeting moment when they struggle to hold on to a single name and face.
