Budapeste by Chico Buarque
A Brazilian ghostwriter who spends his days typing texts that others sign becomes obsessed with the Hungarian language and the distant city of Budapest; as he learns the language and travels there, he becomes involved with a woman and gradually splits his life between Rio and the foreign city, blurring authorship, identity and desire in a taut meditation on doubles, anonymity and the slippery boundaries between voice and self.
