Phantasy In Everyday Life by Eric Segal

This work explains how unconscious phantasies—early internalized fantasies and emotional templates—shape everyday perception, relationships, symptoms, and repetitive patterns of behavior; using clinical vignettes and theoretical discussion, it traces their developmental origins, how they organize internal object relations and defenses, influence transference, and suggests therapeutic approaches for recognizing and working with these phantasies to relieve suffering and increase psychological flexibility.
