A man being transported in suspended animation is kept conscious by a stream of memory tapes, but when the playback system malfunctions he becomes trapped in an escalating loop of fabricated recollections, shifting identities, and contradictory scenarios; as the simulation attempts to repair itself his sense of self unravels and the psychological torment of endless waiting forces him to confront the fragile boundary between memory and manufactured reality, leaving him clinging to a desperate hope for arrival that may itself be an illusion.
