De Terugkeer Van De Koning by J. R. R. Tolkien
In the epic conclusion, the free peoples marshal to defend a besieged kingdom while a rightful heir emerges to claim his throne and lead armies in great battles that decide the fate of the world; at the same time two small companions undertake a desperate, stealthy journey into the enemy’s land where hunger, betrayal and the corrupting power of a dark artifact bring them to the brink, yet the artifact is ultimately undone, the enemy collapses, realms are restored and the survivors return to rebuild their lives though some are forever marked and must seek healing elsewhere.
