The Stray Dog by Marc Simont

The story follows a family who encounters a stray dog during a picnic and forms an immediate bond with him. Despite leaving the dog behind, the family can't stop thinking about him throughout the week. When they return to the park the following weekend, they find the dog again, now being chased by a dogcatcher. The family decides to adopt the dog, naming him Willy, and he becomes a beloved member of their family. The narrative highlights themes of compassion, family, and the joy of adopting a pet.
