The Terminal Man by Michael Crichton
The novel follows the story of Harry Benson, a man suffering from severe seizures and violent outbursts due to a brain injury. To control his condition, a team of scientists and doctors at a Los Angeles hospital implant electrodes in his brain, connected to a computer that is supposed to prevent his seizures by stimulating his brain. However, the experiment goes awry as Benson becomes increasingly unstable and paranoid, leading to a tense and dangerous situation. The narrative explores themes of technology's ethical implications, the unpredictability of human behavior, and the potential consequences of scientific intervention in the human mind.
