Radio Free Albemuth by Philip K. Dick
The novel is a dystopian science fiction tale set in an alternate reality where a totalitarian regime controls the United States. The story follows Nicholas Brady, a record store clerk who begins receiving mysterious transmissions from a satellite, which he believes to be a divine entity called VALIS. These messages inspire him to join a resistance movement against the oppressive government led by President Ferris F. Fremont. As Brady and his friend, science fiction writer Philip K. Dick, navigate a world of paranoia and surveillance, they grapple with themes of reality, freedom, and the power of belief.
