Chomp by Carl Hiaasen

The story revolves around Wahoo Cray, a boy whose father is a professional animal wrangler in Florida. When they are hired to work on a reality TV show called "Expedition Survival!" featuring the self-absorbed and inept star Derek Badger, chaos ensues.
