Lucky You by Carl Hiaasen
The novel is a satirical crime story set in Florida, where two lottery winners, JoLayne Lucks and Bode Gazzer, find themselves entangled in a chaotic adventure. JoLayne, a compassionate veterinary assistant, plans to use her winnings to preserve a local wilderness area, while Bode, a neo-Nazi, aims to fund his extremist group. When Bode and his accomplice steal JoLayne's ticket, she teams up with a disgraced journalist, Tom Krome, to retrieve it. The narrative unfolds with a mix of humor and social commentary, exploring themes of greed, environmentalism, and the absurdities of human nature.
