Two Steps Forward by Graeme Simsion
The novel follows the journey of two individuals, Zoe and Martin, who embark on the Camino de Santiago, a famous pilgrimage route in Europe, each for their own personal reasons. Zoe, an American artist reeling from the sudden death of her husband, seeks solace and a new direction in life, while Martin, a British engineer dealing with a messy divorce, hopes to test his prototype cart designed for long-distance walking. As they traverse the challenging path, they encounter a variety of fellow pilgrims, face personal challenges, and gradually find themselves drawn to each other. Through their shared experiences and the transformative power of the journey, both characters discover healing, unexpected companionship, and a renewed sense of purpose.
