Women Talking by Miriam Toews
In a secluded Mennonite colony, a group of women gather in a hayloft to discuss their future after discovering that they have been drugged and assaulted by the men in their community. As they grapple with the shocking betrayal and the oppressive traditions that have silenced them, the women must decide whether to stay and fight for change or leave everything they know behind. Through their conversations, they explore themes of faith, autonomy, and resilience, ultimately seeking a path to empowerment and justice in the face of unimaginable trauma.
