The Status Civilization by Robert Sheckley

In a dystopian future where Earth has become a utopian society, criminals are exiled to the harsh planet of Omega, a world governed by chaos and violence. The protagonist, Will Barrent, awakens on Omega with no memory of his past crimes or life on Earth. As he navigates the brutal hierarchy and bizarre customs of this new society, he embarks on a quest to reclaim his identity and understand the nature of his supposed transgressions. Through a series of perilous encounters and revelations, he challenges the oppressive systems of both Omega and Earth, ultimately seeking freedom and truth in a world where conformity is enforced at all costs.
