All Summer In A Day by Ray Bradbury
Set on a rain-drenched Venus where the sun appears only once every seven years, the story follows a group of schoolchildren eagerly anticipating the brief moment of sunlight. Margot, a girl from Earth who remembers the sun, becomes the target of jealousy and cruelty from her classmates, who lock her in a closet just before the sun emerges. As the children revel in the rare sunshine, they forget about Margot, only to release her after the sun has vanished, leaving them with a sense of guilt and the realization of the consequences of their actions.
