Boesman And Lena by Athol Fugard

Set in apartheid-era South Africa, the story follows a displaced couple, Boesman and Lena, as they navigate the harsh realities of their transient existence. Forced to move from place to place, they carry their few belongings and the weight of their past grievances. As they set up a temporary shelter in the mudflats of the Swartkops River, their relationship is tested by the arrival of an old African man, Outa, whose presence stirs up buried emotions and tensions. Through their interactions, the narrative delves into themes of racial oppression, identity, and the human need for connection amidst adversity.
