2. The Road To Science Fiction #2 From Wells To Heinlein
From Wells to Heinlein
This anthology traces the evolution of modern science fiction from late-19th-century scientific romance through the pulps and into the early Golden Age, assembling influential stories and commentary that illustrate shifts in theme, tone, and technique — from speculative social critique and scientific extrapolation to adventure-driven space and technological narratives. By pairing primary texts with editorial introductions and notes, it shows how anxieties and hopes about progress, society, and human destiny shaped the genre’s emergence and maturation.
