Parmenides

Parmenides of Elea was a pre-Socratic Greek philosopher from the colony of Elea in Magna Graecia. He is known for his single work, a poem called 'On Nature,' which has survived only in fragments. Parmenides is considered one of the founders of metaphysics and is best known for his doctrine that reality is unchanging and that change is an illusion.
