Alan M. Turing
Alan Mathison Turing was a pioneering British mathematician, logician, and computer scientist. He is widely considered to be the father of theoretical computer science and artificial intelligence. Turing played a crucial role in breaking the German Enigma code during World War II, significantly contributing to the Allied war effort. His work laid the foundation for modern computing and he is remembered for the Turing Test, a measure of a machine's ability to exhibit intelligent behavior equivalent to, or indistinguishable from, that of a human.
