I Am Sovereign by Nicola Barker

During a frenzied twenty-minute house viewing in a Welsh seaside town, a hapless middle-aged teddy-bear maker tries to sell his home to prospective buyers as the scene splinters into comic digressions, intrusive narration, and existential asides. What begins as an ordinary transaction becomes a chaotic meditation on identity, free will, ownership, and the stories we tell ourselves, as characters and narrator collide in a playful, formally inventive farce.
